  1. Present: see attached list.

  2. Jerry Westphal, President opened the annual meeting at 9:30 a.m.

  3. Steve Mulder, Treasurer, presented the Treasurer Report for the July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011 Association year. Motion by Jerry Dunn and second by Roger Hildenbrand to approve the Treasurer Report, was approved unanimously by members present.

  4. Larry Blair reminded everyone about the picnic, to be held on August 13, at noon, at Mike Duits' home on Gaskill Road (bring a dish to pass).

  5. There was discussion about a lake-wide garage sale to be held on September 10 and 11, with an ad in the Banner.

  6. Dusty Grable, of Professional Lake Management, presented a report concerning weed treatment and water quality. Weed treatments occurred on May 23 and June 27, with future treatments to be on July 27 and August 29, He also reported data survey showed a good balance of native plants. Invasives present include Eurasian milfoil and curly leaf pond weed. Chara is a native weed, but it is present at nuisance levels. He also reported that a mid-May water sample showed elevated phosphorous, but this was expected due to heavy rains. A June water sample for e-coli showed no e-coli present. A water sample will be tested for nutrients in the fall. He also described new products, including "Clipper" which shows good results on weeds that are difficult to control, and including "muck pellets" which work well on muck composed of organic matter.

  7. Brad Carpenter, Carlton Township Supervisor, reported that all but 32 homes are hooked up to the new sewer system. Completion of the project should occur in August. He also indicated that there are eight connection problem homes (one on Leach Lake and seven on Middle Lake).

  8. President Jerry Westphal reported that the current board members and officers are continuing for the second year of three-year terms for the July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012 Association year. The current board members and officers are Jerry Westphal (President and board member), Larry Blair (Vice President and board member), Steve Mulder (Secretary, Treasurer and board member), Jerry Dunn (board member) and John Stapor (board member). One additional board member is needed to complete a six member board. Upon motion and second, Jeff Glossop was nominated and unanimously approved by members present as a board member for the current Association year, July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012 and the year July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013.

  9. Larry Blair reported on the problem with Mute swans, an invasive species, on the lake and on his discussions with the DNR about controlling them.

  10. Roger Hildenbrand suggested discussions with the Hastings Fire Department concerning addition of a dry hydrant at the public access site.

  11. Upon motion and second, unanimously approved by members present the annual meeting was adjouned.
